Manage Login Methods & Parallel Login Restriction

Created by Testpress Support, Modified on Fri, 6 Mar at 2:49 PM by Testpress Support

Parallel Login Restriction helps you control how many devices and attempts a user can use to access your platform. This ensures better account security and prevents credential sharing across multiple users or devices.

How to Access Parallel Login Restriction

  1. Go to Settings

  2. Select Institute

  3. Click on Parallel Login Restriction

This feature is used to prevent multiple users from accessing the same account simultaneously

Available Login Controls

Enable Parallel Login Restriction

When enabled, the system restricts users from logging in simultaneously from multiple devices.

It prevents the same account from being active in multiple sessions at the same time.

Enable Single Login for Staff Users

When enabled, staff or mentor users will be automatically logged out from their previous device when they log in from a new one.

It ensures staff accounts are used by only one device at a time, reducing misuse.

IP Addresses to Be Excluded from Restriction

You can whitelist specific IP addresses that are exempt from parallel login restrictions.

  • Enter comma-separated IP addresses

  • Users logging in from these IPs will not be affected by login restrictions

Limit User Login

Maximum Number of Times User Can Log In – Web

Sets the maximum number of allowed login attempts on the web.

  • If the limit is exceeded, the user account will be locked

  • Leave blank to disable this restriction

  • Changing this value will log out all web users

Maximum Number of Times User Can Log In – Mobile App

Defines the maximum number of login attempts allowed on the mobile app.

  • Exceeding the limit locks the user account

  • Leave blank to disable locking

  • Changing this value will log out all mobile app users

Cool Down Time for Lockout (in Hours)

Specifies how long a locked account remains inaccessible before it is automatically unlocked.

  • Leave blank to disable auto-unlocking

  • Useful to balance security and user convenience

After configuring the required options, click Submit to apply the changes.
